ABOUT RHO EP
Founded in March 2011, Rho Epsilon Pi is the only active sorority at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. In its short history, Rho Epsilon Pi boasts over 60 initiates. Proud of our status as a local chapter specific to Wesleyan University, we retain a sense of autonomy and agency over our own organization, enabling our members to truly guide the organization to best suit their needs and the needs of our campus community. We hope that through the development of important rituals and traditions that we will continue to provide a resource and support network for all young women on the Wesleyan campus.
The letters rho (P), epsilon (E) and pi (π) were chosen as the Greek-letters for the organization for symbolic reasons. According to mystical traditions, the Greek letter rho, translates to “creative female power” and has the symbolic meaning of “fruitfulness, vegetative growth, adaptability, and fluidity.” Epsilon translates to “ether” and means “breath of life.” Pi translates as “spiritual illumination.”
